BIOS / Firmware Basics

On occasion customers contact us with the hope that we'll be able to help them with a BIOS problem. If there are no well known or widespread BIOS problems with your model and one day it wouldn't boot, chances are you don't have a BIOS problem.

One of the only circumstances where the BIOS is the problem, is when a BIOS update fails to complete or is interrupted before completion. This failure is most common when the user attempts to perform the update with a Windows© based flash utility.

If the laptop or device was functioning before the BIOS or Firmware update attempt, then this is a good candidate for our BIOS reset / repair services.

A Common Question:

We would like to shed light on a question that some customers ask in regards to BIOS repair. The question is "will you repair my BIOS with the latest version that is available?"

The Answer:
Yes, if it's possible, but that is not always the case. There may be a problem with the latest version and it may not be useable.

If this is the case, we will have to revert back a revision or two and use one that is stable.Contact US & Pricing
